    The history of Marsala wines

    We strongly believe that we cannot build our future without knowing our past.

    The Lombardo firm is more than sales invoices and purchase orders. Our company is comprised of the wonderful moments we have shared with our customers, our suppliers, and our employees. It is the passion, the feelings and the emotions of making a wine that bears our family name for over 100 years. It has been, and will continue to be our trademark to make available wines of outstanding quality at a price so all people may buy and enjoy them. This is more than a business plan, it is our philosophy and what has made us the success we are today. Our 20,000 sq.m winery property is located in the city of Marsala.

     

    It was founded in 1881 by Giuseppe Lombardo Maltese, a resourceful builder who envisioned his ships taking wine from his native land all over the world.

    The company maintemed family-run, linked to ancient traditions but driven by a strong motivation towards innovation. The philosophy of the Cantine Lombardo has developed in a framework of collaboration and enthusiasm the goal is the wine quality from the vine to the delivery.

    The desire to grow mode that over the years we dronght the taste of our land beyond the regional and national borders. The evolution of the company is supported by a modern bottling plant, a large storage warehouse and a laboratory that allows to control the quality of the wine at any time.

    The vines are checked regularly throughout the year. The meticulous attention and the most modern cultivation techniques ensures that love for good wine turns into high quality.

    We produce Marsala Wines, Aromatic Wines such as Cremovo and Almond Wine, and Liquor wines such as Malvasia, Moscato, and Zibibbo as well as wines for the celebration of the Holy Mass.

    Our Cellar

    Our 20,000 sq.m winery property is located in the city of Marsala. It was founded in 1881 by Giuseppe Lombardo Maltese, a resourceful builder who envisioned his ships taking wine from his native land all over the world.

    Our sales have increased steadily reaching 1,600,000 bottles of which two-thirds are exported to over 60 countries around the world.

    We produce Marsala Wines, Aromatic Wines such as Cremovo and Almond Wine, and Liquor wines such as Malvasia, Moscato, and Zibibbo as well as wines for the celebration of the Holy Mass.

    Over a century of wine making experience is the best guarantee a consumer can have that Lombardo wines are of the highest quality.
